About Portsmouth River Days
Every Labor Day weekend, for over 50 years ,Portsmouth River Days has provided music, fun and activities to southern Ohio and the surrounding area. The festvial opens on Thursday night and runs through Monday, Labor Day. Each night there are free concerts on the riverfront stage, so bring a lawn chair or a blanket and join us on the banks of the beautiful Ohio River for great music. Sunday night, after the concert, stay and enjoy the Fireworks Extravganza, always a hit with young and old alike!
Saturday morning the streets will be lined with people as the River Days Grand Parade steps off at 11:00am. The parade is Ohio's largest daytime parade with over 200 entrys each year. Saturday night, the Portsmouth River Days Queen's Pageant, is held at the Vern Riffe Center, at Shawnee State University. The largest Queen's pageant in the state is always a sold out event.
Other activities also include Mid-way Rides, Arts and Crafts, Buckeye State Kiddie Tractor Pullers, Petting Zoo, including Pony Rides, Children's Activities and on Monday an Antique Car Show. Of course there will be plenty of good food for everyone to enjoy, so come and join us for River Days 2015
